What happens in a little tigers karate class?

Little Tigers martial arts classes are carefully structured to suit the attention span, confidence levels, and physical development of pre-school children.

Each session follows a familiar routine, helping children feel safe, settled, and confident as they learn.

A gentle warm-up

Children begin with simple movement games that improve balance, coordination, and listening skills — all in a calm, supportive way.

Basic karate movements

We introduce fundamental karate techniques using age-appropriate drills that focus on control, posture, and focus rather than power or contact.

Confidence-building activities

Children practise following instructions, taking turns, and working independently, helping them build self-confidence and concentration.

Fun, structured games

Games are used to reinforce learning while keeping sessions enjoyable and engaging — without overstimulation.

A positive finish

Classes end on a high note, reinforcing good behaviour, effort, and respect.

Our Approach

Little Tigers isn’t about pushing children too early. It’s a calm, structured introduction to karate that allows young children to learn and develop at their own pace.

Is Little Tigers Right for My Child?

Little Tigers is designed for children aged 4–6, with no previous experience needed. Children don’t need to be naturally confident, sporty or outgoing — our classes are structured to help each child settle in and develop at their own pace.

Little Tigers Could Be a Great Fit If Your Child:

Is starting nursery or school
Would benefit from routine and gentle structure
Is developing their listening and focus
Is shy or takes time to warm up in new environments
Would benefit from building confidence around others
Enjoys movement and learning through play

Every child is different. Your 2-week free trial gives them time to settle in and gives you the chance to see whether Little Tigers feels right for them.

Is Karate Suitable for a 4 Year Old?

Many parents wonder whether their child is ready for karate at age four. Little Tigers is designed specifically for children aged 4–6, using short, structured activities to help develop confidence, listening skills, coordination and focus.

A Calm, Supportive Introduction to Karate

The emphasis is not on competition or intensity. It’s about creating a positive first experience, encouraging good behaviour and effort, and helping children feel comfortable and proud of what they achieve as they learn.

Not sure whether your child is ready? That’s exactly what the 2-week free trial is for. They have time to settle into the classes, and you can see how they respond before deciding whether to continue.
